Saying 'No Thanks' without even being here and getting pissed on for it.
Well, my silver membership just expired today. I was thinking
of renewing, but after last night, I think I've decided
not to. I had a member in my network that I talked to on IMC
once and in emails back and forth a couple of times. We seemed
to get along pretty well. However, when I came home from
dinner and the grocery store last night, I see an email from
him with the subject line 'Whatever' and the email
said 'Not sure why you declined my invitation to chat.
I'm a pretty cool guy, probably a lot more down to earth
and better than most guys in here. Your loss, babe!! '
So, I explained to him how IMC works (he's pretty new
on here), saying that there is a timeout feature and when
one does not answer the PM, it times out saying that that
person is unavailable and that if I were here, I would not
have declined it. I also mentioned how I wasn't going
to lose any sleep over this loss and wished him a good night.
His response to that was 'Well, if I were here to get
it, then I wouldn't have declined it. I guess now is
time to teach you about the time-out feature on IMC. If someone
doesn't answer your PM in a certain amount of time,
it will show you that that person is unavailable. I suggest
you lighten up. Hardly going to lose sleep over this loss.
Have a nice night.' AND 'And based on our conversations
and your profile, you're the one who needs to lighten
up you prude. No wonder your chunky ass hasn't been
laid in soooo looooonnng, no one can't get that stick
out of your ass. You should try breaking out of your shell
and let a nice guy like me talk to you w/o you trying to be such
a hard ass and stand-offish, and get to know me.'
If you'd like to know the name of this person so that
you do not have to put up with his shit either, please let
me know. So far, the worst I response I've gotten to
a no thanks is 'You couldn't handle this anyway!!'
Which made me laugh. But this takes the cake.
